You raised me in fear of the AntiChrist--
Now a man such as he rules the country Because you and others who tout things biblical Voted. Him. In I grew up in terror of the Three Days of Darkness We hoarded blessed candles in Rubbermaids in the basement Alongside the 5-gallon buckets of dry goods And cases and cases of Ammo Now men like demons prowl the streets, lying to gain entry into homes, Ice agents hungry to round up the innocents And instead of lying in dread awaiting damnation I lie instead dreading my beloved's deportation You spoke daily of the danger of Hell And warned us not to sin so I didn't So why, father, I ask you Have you and men like you Plunged our country into a quagmire of filth and depravity Where evil wreaks havoc at the helm?

Lovely weaving of words to draw together past and present in comparison and contradistintion.
